has it been so long,
that you forgot the sound of my voice?

there was a time
when you knew
it was me before i spoke

our connection surpassed telephone lines

our energy was strong between you and i
nothing could break our tie
or so i thought

you slowly pushed me
it didn't make sense
and i asked "why?"

it no longer mattered "why"
you were already gone
you've been gone for a long time
and i didn't see it

i look back on us now
we had such good times
but not without the struggles from time to time
i remember more good than bad

we're much older now
i still remember what we had
i yearn to have what i had with you
with someone else

someone who will love me
in the same intensity that i love him
